BCOLP Continues BBNJ Dialogue Series with Sri Lanka and Thailand

As part of its BBNJ Dialogue Series, the Bangladesh Centre for Ocean Law and Policy (BCOLP) continues to facilitate regional discussions on the implementation of the BBNJ Agreement ahead of the first Conference of the Parties (COP). On 23 October 2026, the series will feature perspectives from Sri Lanka and Thailand, with Nillasi Liyanage (Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies, Sri Lanka) and Dr Naporn “Prompt” Popattanachai (University of Galway) discussing national preparedness, implementation priorities, capacity-building, marine technology transfer, and regional cooperation under the BBNJ framework. The dialogue forms part of BCOLP’s broader efforts to strengthen understanding and engagement with emerging ocean governance developments across the Bay of Bengal and the wider Indian Ocean region. BCOLP’s mission is generously supported by Luminedge and Luminedge Bangladesh.
